When I walked into the box the first day, I was convinced I could not do CrossFit. I mean, how was I supposed to be able to do any of it? I had chronic pain issues and nerve damage from breaking my back in a car accident. I had been on a pain management cocktail of pain killers, muscle relaxers and anti-inflammatory medicines for almost 10 years and I HATE exercising. Yeah, this was going to go well!
I was prepared to fail, but I had to at least try it. By the end of my first class, I was sore,sweaty (ew!), out of breath…and felt like a superhero. Dave and Teri are awesome! They made me feel like family from my first moment there. They pushed me to go beyond what I thought I could do while making sure I am not overdoing. Everything in CrossFit can be modified or altered to meet my physical needs.
The day after, I could barely move, but in a good way. CrossFit definitely works your muscles. But what made me come back the next day was family. Because at Black Bull, we are a family from day one. Black Bull has helped me become healthier and now I’m managing my pain without medication, which is awesome. When I go to Black Bukl I know I will get an awesome workout, but more importantly, I get to spend time with friends.
